Understanding the book of Revelation with Afolabi Dollars (10)

MARTYRS

This a continuation from our previous article. For you to fully understand this, you have to go back to the 9^th part of our series on the book of Revelation. We are still taking about the characteristics of the martyred saints. We have talked about their location and position. Now we examine other characteristics:

* THEIR IDENTIFICATION:

The seer referred to them as “the souls of them that were slain”; they didn’t die natural death, THEY WERE SLAIN, they’re put to death by persecution. The voice of these MARTYRS crying out from “heaven” in John’s VISION is one of the incidental scriptural proofs that the SOUL doesn’t cease to exist at death, it may or may not sleep until the resurrection. These martyred saints could cry out from heaven, and are still conscious of what happened to them on earth before their death, could make prayers or request for the divine judicial vindication of their suffering and martyrdom, because their souls are still in existence. Why were they slain? How did they become kingdom MARTYRS? It’s for TWO REASONS which are:

1) “FOR THE WORD OF GOD”:

We need to understand that the tribulation is not just starting, the tribulation already began from the times of John, that’s why he referred to himself as “your partner in the TRIBULATION for God’s word and the testimony of Jesus” in Rev.1:9. Every believer in Christ are actually PARTNERS IN THE TRIBULATION, persecuted on the account of the word or truth of God. TRIBULATION is from the FIRST COMING of Christ to the SECOND COMING of CHRIST!️

2) “FOR THE TESTIMONY which they held”:

This TESTIMONY is the testimony of Jesus, not the kinds we see in different churches during their “testimony time”. Hear me well, THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS is not the so-called testimonies of visas, financial breakthroughs, promotions, health and wealth, new contracts, newly built 100, 000 seater church auditorium, etc we see/hear in different denominations today! Every believer would be persecuted on the account of their testimony to the truth, or being faithful witnesses of the truth of Jesus Christ.

* THE INVOCATION OF THE MARTYRS:

“And they cried with a loud voice”.

Here we see these MARTYRED saints pleaded to God for His judicial vindication and executive judgement on the people on Earth to avenge their blood. All these charismatic Christians who think they can COMMAND God to do their bidding should learn from these martyred saints, they didn’t command, they pleaded! Only in Christendom would you see subjects COMMANDING their king/Lord just because some of their “name it and claim it” doctrinal masters taught them wrongly and out of context. Can you even command your biological father?

*THE CONVOCATION OF THE MARTYRS:

According to Rev.6:11, WHITE ROBES are given to the martyrs, to each and every one of them, what was said to them immediately after that was that THEY SHOULD REST!

WHITE in this context represents RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE and PURITY.

Their given white robes is the Robe of RIGHTEOUSNESS and PEACE. We need to understand symbolisms and also need to understand that these white Robes were GIVEN to them, they didn’t go to any tailor to sew it for them, so understand that the white garments we are wearing here on Earth doesn’t mean we actually identify with HEAVEN, what identifies us with HEAVEN is the PURITY of our HEARTS, this is the best WHITE GARMENT you can wear, not beautiful white fabrics! These ROBES/GARMENTS of Righteousness is a ROBE that symbolically and spiritually identify with THE CHRIST.

These WHITE ROBES/GARMENTS are GIVEN to these MARTYRS which symbolises that they’re clothed with CHRIST or clothed with IMMORTALITY enabled by CHRIST, that’s why they’re told to REST, because both REST And IMMORTALITY only comes through Him!

THE PERSUASION OF THE MARTYRS:

“and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, UNTIL THE NUMBER OF THEIR FELLOW SERVANTS ALSO AND THEIR BRETHREN, THAT SHOULD BE KILLED AS THEY WERE, BE FULFILLED”-Rev.6:11

When will the number of their fellow servants also and their brethren that should be killed as they were, be fulfilled?

The number is fulfilled in the great tribulation period when THE DRAGON rises against those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ as seen in Revelation chapter 12

Rev 12:17: “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ”.

Before we begin exegesis on chapter 13, I’ll do a proper exegesis on chapter 12 for accuracy of understanding, but at the moment I want to focus on the SEALS.

One of the false religions and tools of the ANTICHRIST AGENDA which has been killing God servants and saints for their TESTIMONY is THE HARLOT which is drunk with the blood of the saints and MARTYRS of Jesus Christ beginning from the days of His disciples cum apostles till this present day, and we’d see this harlot received her judgement in Revelation chapter 18.

Rev 17:6: “And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the MARTYRS of Jesus”.

We will talk more about the HARLOT later on this series.

In conclusion, the fifth seal is about the MARTYRDOM of kingdom oriented saints through inevitable/inescapable persecutions, and a reminder that, though the Christ inaugurated the “Kingdom of God” through the preaching of the gospels, God’s people would suffer during the tribulation that starts from the first coming of Christ to the second coming of Christ.

NONE OF THE SEALS DISCUSS SO FAR TALKED ABOUT ANY RAPTURE, WE ARE GOING TO PARTAKE IN THE TRIBULATION TILL THE REMAINING NUMBER IS FULFILLED!

Tribulation, persecution and martyrdom are not palatable in any way, but God in the frequency of His permissive will ALLOWS them even on His people to complete His awesome plan. Even as Jesus Christ, our perfect model/example suffered and died to become the GLORIFIED CHRIST, Saints would also suffer persecutions and tribulations for their TESTIMONY in order to become GLORIFIED SAINTS in the frequency of IMMORTALITY! So, as we are preparing for a glorious Kingdom FOR US, we must also be prepared to partake of Christ’s suffering FOR US. (1 Peter 4:13).
