Rev. Stephen Akinola, one of the men God used mightily in the early days of Deeper Life Christian Ministry has reportedly died.

His death came shortly after the death of Prophet Temitope Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations

Pastor Akinola was the pastor of Deeper Life in Rivers State before he pulled out to start Redemption Ministries.

He was reputed for the incredible gift of working miracles.

He was described as a demon chaser in those early days because of the incredible unction upon his life.

Church Times sources said he was quite close to Pastor Kumuyi while he was still in Deeper Life.

Akinola who is from Ighoho, Oyo State was born in Ghana on March 4, 1953; he had his primary and secondary education in Northern Ghana.

He returned to Nigeria in 1971 and started his career as a teacher in the Baptist Primary School, Igboho. After about two years on the job, he went to Yaba College of Technology.

He became born again in 1974 and from then became a mighty instrument in God’s hands. He got involved with Deeper Life and was deployed to the east where he worked assiduously spreading the gospel of Jesus and establishing branches of Deeper Life Church.

In January 1987, he felt led to start the Redemption Ministries. The ministry has spread to a number of countries apart from Nigeria.

At a time, it was the fastest-growing church in Portharcourt.
