The General Secretary of National Prayer Movement, Mr. Gbemiga Olakunle has assured Nigerians that it shall yet be well with the country even as he noted that God is casting down the dynasty of Satan.
In a New Year message made available to Church Times, titled, “At evening time, it shall be light: A New Year Message of Hope to a Nation at Crossroads, Olakunle, quoting Zachariah 4v7 said, “But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, not night: BUT IT SHALL COME TO PASS THAT AT EVENING TIME IT SHALL BE LIGHT”
While noting that the night period in the life of an individual, a people, or nation depicts an unpleasant period, he said, “It’s a period that people pray for its quick expiration.”
He said, “For an individual, poverty, prolonged loneliness, disappointment at the edges of breakthroughs, sickness, unexplainable misfortunes, among others are signs of a night period.
“And in the case of a Community or a Nation like Nigeria, incidences of systemic and endemic corruption that is widespread, security challenges (most especially kidnapping, armed banditry/robbery, terrorism), abject poverty with its attendant low Standards of Living and any other conditions that are making life to be unbearable for the citizens can be akin to passing through a night period.”
Despite the attendant ills in the country, he said “GOD has a message of hope for us whether as individuals, Communities or a Nation that our night period will soon expire much earlier than we can imagine giving way to a period of Shining Light.
“The power of darkness over our lives as individuals or as a Nation that may be holding us to ransom can no longer prolong their tenures. GOD is casting down satanic dynasties/ thrones, that may be causing us pains, shedding of innocent blood and thus bringing tears and sorrows to us in our families, communities and in the nation in JESUS Name.”
He said in conclusion that, “whatever evening periods we may find ourselves whether as individuals or collectively as a Nation even if we have been tricked into any unwholesome relationship of whatever nature, GOD is telling us that there shall be light and our day time will break forth as we are crossing over into the New Year 2021 in JESUS Name.”
