Leke Adeboye: I was grilled for 8 hours to qualify as PA to Pastor Adeboye

by Church Times

Leke Adeboye, son of General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye; has said he was grilled for 8 hours to qualify to serve as Personal Assistant to Pastor Adeboye.

He made this known in a YouTube interview with Moyosore Akinwole.

Despite being the son of Pastor Adeboye, Leke said he did not get the job on a platter.

He said the interview session was strenuous. His words, “I have never been grilled so hard in my life before. I was fully suited for the interview. I wore a long tie; not even a bow tie, but came out with a singlet and a boxer.”

Leke said his probation after he secured the job was for a year and six months unlike others in the missions’ employment who had six months’ probation.

While thanking God for the experiencing of being PA to Pastor Adeboye, Leke who studied Space Engineering and also has a Masters in Project Management said he had this compelling urge to work for the RCCG after his studies.

He said Pastor Adeboye never had a PA before he came on the scene pointing out that the job is like that of a messenger.

Recalling that he has been living in the Redemption Camp when he was six months. He said he could not recall what happened in his formative years.

But he sees his work as PA to his father as a great honour. “I do not take the role for granted. Many people in this mission are qualified for the job but it happened that they did not apply” he said.

While noting that RCCG is in over 190 countries of the world, Leke said the PA to the church’s next General Overseer would have to speak many international languages.

He believes anyone who hears from God and who God is calling to His service should not hesitate to work for God but that such opportunity should not be taken for granted.

“I give glory to God for what he has been able to do. I will advise anyone who hears the calling to jump at it. But you need to separate between your father and your job.”
