Father Mbaka opens up on SARS asks the youths to rise up more

by Church Times

Rev Father Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu has said he is happy that the youths of Nigeria have finally found their voice noting however that SARS is not the only problem of Nigeria but the systemic rot in the country.

Mbaka addressed the issue in a video message posted on his Facebook wall on October 20 monitored by Church Times.

In the video, which showed he was talking to his church members he said many had wondered why he had been silent.

He said, “People have been asking why I have not been talking on the EndSARS protest. Do you know when I have been asking our youths to rise up? When the yoke becomes unbearable you will resist the yoke. That is what the Bible says. All I am trying to say is that the condition of our youths in this country is unbearable and intolerable.”

He said the problem of Nigeria did not start from Buhari but started from the past administrations adding however that when we are ready to solve our problems, we will solve it.”

He said further, “Even the SARS is not our problem. If we end SARS Nigeria’s problem will not end. But I am glad we have started somewhere. I pray it will not be politicised.”

He wondered why a sitting senator is swimming in millions yet our graduates have no job asking, “What plans do we have for our children? Roads are in a total mess. The system is evil, we need the youths to rise up all the more otherwise you will keep talking until you age and die away.

“I am ashamed of our leaders from the past. Dubai was a desert area now the attraction of the whole universe. What have we been doing with our oil money? Few people are swindling our money. One person will be ridding about 20 Prado jeeps in a convoy. What for?”

While praying for the young people who are fighting for the wellness of Nigeria, he said part of the agitation should be the reform of the electoral system.

“The electoral system should be corrected. We should allow people who can make Nigerians like developed countries come to power. The name of Nigeria is neither APC nor PDP…we have people who can change the image of this country but the system has not allowed them. But some people have cannibalised and cabalised this country.”
