President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, has warned clergymen against a lacklustre attitude to ministry work and their service to God.

He also urged them to continue to develop themselves intellectually and in other areas for effective deliveries of God’s work.

Oke who is the Presiding Bishop of The Sword of the Spirit Ministries gave the counsel at the thanksgiving-graduation service organized for the first set of the Wale Oke College of Missions and Evangelism (WOCOME), held at the permanent site of the college at Kasumu, Ibadan.

The mission school was inaugurated at Ibadan last year by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and graced by the Governors of Oyo, Engr Seyi Makinde and his Akwa Ibom counterpart, Dr Emmanuel Udom as well as dignitaries from different walks of life.

The PFN president said God’s work should be attended to with utmost concern and sincerity by every soul, especially the Clerics.

He implored them to strive at all times to always please God and not men. saying, “Now, your career in mission is starting; either in the field of existing mission or to break new grounds, or at WOCOME, to prepare future generation.”

Continuing, he said, “We admonish you to serve the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your might. If you do, not only will He reward you, He will surely honour you”

Oke further warned them against being complacent, saying “You should therefore continue to develop yourselves for greater effectiveness, whether informally through sundry personal development and edification or formally via the way of further studies”

In his speech, the Rector of the college,Dr. Olusola Ajagbe, enjoined the graduands from the book of 1 Corinthians 15:58, urging them to stand firm in the assignment ahead of them

“As you go, do not forget the three Gs-God’s glory, their Gold and their Girls, they are fire you must not touch.Allow God to reward you. Serve with humidity; the God of all grace will go with you. The God of our fathers will give you success in Jesus name” prayed the Rector

The ceremony was attended by Rev Mrs Victoria Tokunbo Oke, the wife of the PFN President, Bishops Dapo Ogunsola and Abiodun Adeniji as well as pastors and others
